Managing Risk in a Complex World

Defense Programs

Force Protection/Projection

Well in advance of the post 9/11 surge in anti-terrorism programs, IEM had been engaged in joint force protection, homeland defense initiatives, and emergency preparedness. And since 9/11 we have worked tirelessly, continuing to develop and refine approaches and tap new technologies to help put in check threats against U.S. forces and populations.

Planning for and minimizing the effects of catastrophic threats, whether natural or manmade, have always been at the heart of IEM’s work. We have aided U.S. installations and agencies in implementing consequence management strategies that mitigate the impact of an emergency, including the enemy’s ability to direct Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) against U.S. forces or populations.

Technical, policy support.

IEM has a long and successful history of providing thorough analyses, high-quality services and subject matter expertise to both military and civilian agencies at all levels. From front lines support to national policy development, IEM is uniquely qualified to address joint coordination issues and assure that all stakeholder goals are adequately addressed.
